1640 SE Holly Street - In May, 1910, Morgan & Robb Investments is thought to have hired the Portland Building Association to build this and two other homes on speculation in Ladd's Addition. All three homes exhibit the distinctive features of a Faber design, including the fanciful brackets under the gable ends, the stone pillars and overstated porch timbers. After Morgan & Robb's bankruptcy in 1912, the title passed to one of their creditors, Frederick H. Strong. One of the homes, the 1530 SE Holly Street home, is a known Faber design, and this one is almost certainly also.
